Bursting Altitude
Graph illustrates estimated busting altitude based on flight package payload weight and ground level ascent rate.

About the CPR-1600
This sounding balloon is used to carry payloads typically in the form of radiosondes, ozonesondes, radar targets, cameras, and GPS devices. These heavy payloads should be accompanied by a parachute for the safe return of the payload and for pedestrians below. Meteorologists often use sounding balloons with radiosondes and GPS devices that communicate with ground receiving stations to collect live data in the upper atmosphere. In addition, high altitude videography and photography are also a common use of these weather balloons.
